About Leslie Leonard

  

Welcome! My name is (Mary) Leslie Leonard, and I am a certified personal trainer that specializes in Pilates based movements. Movement makes me happy. Whether it’s my movement or the movement of my clients, I find joy in the discovery of what our bodies can do. 


I have been a Pilates practitioner and personal trainer for 15 plus years and a Pilates reformer instructor for the past 12 years. I realized early on that Pilates is a form of exercise that is accessible, challenging and best of all – fun. My experience as a practitioner and an instructor  confirms to me that a regular practice of Pilates can both enhance your daily activities and complement other forms of movement. In my small studio, I prioritize safety and support for us all. 


I am proud to be a double ‘Cane (BA, MA Communication) with an additional degree (AS Exercise Science), earned later when my four children embarked on their own higher ed journeys. Outside of the studio, I am an avid reader, I love to cook and I enjoy outdoor adventures with my family, friends, and our two pups – Laila and Stella, and our cat - Messi.

Pilates is a practice that has evolved over the past 100 years to incorporate the science of exercise while staying true to its six primary principals - breath, concentration, control, precision, center, flow.  Each 50 minute training session will build on these principals with progressive athletic movements designed to improve your flexibility, strength and balance.
